Abu Dhabi: India’s cross-border anti-terror operation, Operation Sindoor, took centre stage as a high-level all-party delegation led by Shiv Sena MP Dr. Shrikant Eknath Shinde arrived in Abu Dhabi on Thursday, on the first leg of a four-nation diplomatic mission.
The delegation, comprising Bansuri Swaraj, ET Mohmd Basheer, Atul Garg, Sasmit Patra, Manan Kumar Mishra, Surendrajeet Singh Ahluwalia, and former Ambassador Sujan Chinoy, held detailed engagements with senior UAE leaders and institutions.
In a key meeting with HH Sheikh Nahyan Mabarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance, the Indian side explained the strategic precision and non-escalatory intent of Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack. Sheikh Nahyan reiterated the UAE’s deep condolences and declared, “The UAE will always stand with India against terrorism.”
During discussions with H.E. Dr. Nuaimi praised India’s measured response and added, “India-UAE ties go beyond trade — we are aligned on security and strategic priorities.”
The team also met with Dr. Jamal Al Kaabi of the National Media Office, presenting factual evidence to dismantle Pakistan-led misinformation campaigns.
In an interview with The National, Dr. Shinde outlined the context, execution, and impact of Operation Sindoor, calling it a “new normal” in India’s anti-terror doctrine.
The visit concluded with a diaspora meet reaffirming shared values. Closed-door strategic talks with UAE think tanks are slated for friday, reinforcing India-UAE diplomacy in action.
