Seven cricketing greats, including Dhoni, Amla, Mir, and Taylor, join the prestigious ICC Hall of Fame Class of 2025.

London: In a grand celebration of cricket’s enduring legacy, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has inducted seven new legends into the ICC Hall of Fame, marking one of the most significant classes to date.

Honoured at the ‘A Day with the Legends’ event at Abbey Road Studios, the Class of 2025 includes Hashim Amla, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Matthew Hayden, Graeme Smith, Daniel Vettori, along with women’s cricket pioneers Sana Mir and Sarah Taylor. This latest induction brings the total Hall of Fame members to 122.

Voted in by a panel of ICC Hall of Famers, senior executives, and media professionals, these icons were celebrated for their exceptional contributions to the sport across eras and formats.

ICC Chairman Jay Shah remarked, “Through the ICC Hall of Fame, we honour those whose careers have not only shaped cricket’s legacy but have also inspired generations. This is a well-earned recognition for seven outstanding individuals.”

The emotional highlights came from the inductees themselves. MS Dhoni called it a moment he would “cherish forever,” while Amla found the recognition “surreal.” Sarah Taylor, one of the finest wicketkeepers in women’s cricket, described the honour as “a dream come true,” and Sana Mir reflected on her journey from dreaming of a Pakistan women’s team to being immortalised alongside legends.

Their inclusion comes ahead of the ICC World Test Championship Final at Lord’s, adding prestige to an already celebratory week for cricket fans worldwide.

Since its 2009 inception, the ICC Hall of Fame has celebrated cricket’s most revered figures, inducted only after five years of retirement from international cricket.

This year’s additions stand as powerful symbols of excellence, diversity, and evolution within the sport, recognising those who’ve left an indelible mark — on the field and in the hearts of fans across generations.
