The ambitious roadmap was unveiled by Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, during the organisation’s GenAI Week, a dedicated event exploring the future of AI within its framework.
The four-day event at DEWA’s headquarters brought together AI specialists, industry leaders, and global tech giants, including Microsoft, IBM, ServiceNow, and DataRobot. Discussions covered AI-driven transformation, deep learning, neural networks, and automation, with interactive workshops and panel sessions.
Al Tayer emphasised that DEWA’s AI strategy aligns with the UAE’s vision to become a global leader in artificial intelligence. He stated, “This initiative will ensure DEWA remains at the forefront of digital advancements while unlocking new opportunities for sustainable growth. Our framework is designed to embed AI technologies across all operations, enhancing productivity and efficiency while fostering innovation.” The strategy supports the UAE National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031, aiming to strengthen the country’s leadership in AI-driven progress.
A key highlight of GenAI Week was the exhibition of DEWA’s existing AI applications, including Rammas at Work, an AI-powered service across various divisions such as power generation, water distribution, business excellence, and human resources. Additionally, DEWA has integrated AI-driven enhancements in IT support, governance, compliance, and cybersecurity, setting the foundation for its AI-native transformation.
By collaborating with leading AI firms, DEWA plans to equip its workforce with advanced AI training, ensuring employees stay ahead in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. This strategic transformation aims to enhance operational efficiency, improve decision-making, and ultimately, redefine the future of utilities through AI.
