ADIHEX 2022 announces the participation of over 900 exhibitors and brands from 58 countries
Wed 21 Sep 2022Abu Dhabi: Twenty years have passed… On the 22nd of September 2003, the first edition was launched, and its success culminated on its last day with the visit of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Over two decades, this edition constituted the starting point for a series of achievements in preserving heritage and consolidating the concepts of authenticity and pride in the national identity.
As we are preparing for the launch of a new edition in the history of ADIHEX, next Monday morning, we are honoured to extend our sincere gratitude and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE, may God protect him, for his endless support to the exhibition, and to the patron of this event, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region and Chairman of the Emirates Falconers’ Club, for his continued guidance and efforts to develop the exhibition’s objectives to preserve cultural heritage and enhance its role in preserving the environment, sustainable hunting and presenting heritage.
As we celebrate the twentieth year of ADIHEX, the achieved numbers corroborate the accomplishment of a qualitative leap at all levels, as the number of exhibitors has multiplied more than 22 times, and the exhibition area has expanded nearly 10 times, whereas the first edition was launched with the participation of 40 exhibitors from 14 countries on an area of about 6000 sqm.
Whereas today, in ADIHEX 2022, we announce the participation of more than 900 exhibitors and brands from 58 countries, over an area of more than 60.000 sqm, taking the exhibition to the highest growth rate in its history.
In terms of the development of cultural, educational and knowledge content, the number of speakers and participants in seminars, workshops and activities for this year exceeds 100 industry experts and specialists, in addition to more than 130 painters, craftsmen and artists participating in the “Arts and Crafts” sector, as well as bringing together under one roof major brands and companies specialized in its 11 sectors to exchange knowledge and experience, launch new products and services, and expand a business.
This year, ADIHEX witnesses a distinguished Gulf presence including official entities, exhibiting companies, falconers, and enthusiasts of hunting and traditional sports, which reflects the depth of the distinguished relations between the Gulf countries, and the common cultural heritage that unites them.
Over the 7 days of the exhibition, around 150 live activities, workshops, performances, and interesting features await the audience in the “Arena”, in addition to various educational activities, innovative competitions, and live heritage and sports performances that attract everyone. Moreover, participating in the unique camels, falcons, and horses’ auctions during ADIHEX 2022, represent a valuable opportunity to get acquainted with some of the most important aspects of the Emirati and Arab heritage and authentic traditions.
In its new edition, ADIHEX has also announced more specialized heritage, artistic and cultural competitions, which included 27 sectors and categories with 45 prizes, whereas this year’s edition witnessed the participation of 200 competitors from several countries. A major international conference entitled: “The significance of indigenous people and local communities in Linking Intangible Cultural Heritage and Wildlife Conservation” will be held through the collaboration between the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the International Association for Falconry and Conservation of Birds of Prey (IAF), and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), where 24 young falconers representing 24 countries will participate in the conference.
In conclusion, we express our great appreciation and pride for the crucial role of the event sponsors, supporters and partners, whose number this year reached 86 official entities, institutions, and companies, in a clear indication of the success of (ADIHEX 2022) in attracting community and private efforts and enhancing the participation of government and official institutions and their contribution to preserving heritage and highlight it globally.
