FUJAIRAH: Starting May 15, daily flights from Mumbai and Kannur to Fujairah will take off, thanks to a new partnership between Fujairah International Airport and India’s leading low-cost airline, IndiGo. The move is expected to boost air travel, tourism, and business links between the UAE and India.
The launch marks a major milestone for Fujairah Airport, which continues to strengthen its global connectivity. These two direct routes—Mumbai and Kannur—are in high demand among Indian expats and travellers seeking more flight options beyond the UAE’s major airports.
The Mumbai and Kannur flights will give passengers greater access to Fujairah’s stunning mountain ranges, peaceful beaches, and rich cultural heritage. It also positions Fujairah as an emerging destination for both tourists and business travellers from India.
Captain Esmail Al Baloushi, General Manager of Fujairah International Airport, said this expansion will improve Fujairah’s position as a regional travel hub and give the local tourism industry a timely boost. With IndiGo’s reputation for punctual flights and customer satisfaction, travellers can expect a smooth, affordable flying experience.
For IndiGo, this marks their 41st international destination and their fifth in the UAE, following Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah, and Sharjah. Vinay Malhotra from IndiGo noted that Fujairah is a “hidden gem” and praised its growing importance in trade and logistics.
This new route not only strengthens India-UAE ties but also places Fujairah firmly on the aviation map.
