Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Convention and Exhibition Bureau (ADCEB), under the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), has launched an initiative aimed at positioning Abu Dhabi as a premier wedding destination. Announced during the ongoing Arabian Travel Market 2024 and set to commence in May 2024, this initiative extends visa support to Indian nationals hosting destination weddings in the Emirate.

Aligned with Abu Dhabi’s Tourism Strategy 2030, which targets 39.3 million visitors by 2030, the new visa initiative marks the inclusion of the Destination Wedding segment within ADCEB. This move aims to enhance domestic and international visitor numbers and increase the sector’s contribution to the GDP, aiming for AED 90 billion by 2030.

India is globally recognized as one of the largest markets for destination weddings, making it a strategic focus for Abu Dhabi. By offering visa support, including cost absorption, to Indian weddings, ADCEB aims to establish Abu Dhabi as a top-tier destination for weddings and celebrations of all kinds. This initiative showcases the Emirate’s rich cultural heritage, entertainment offerings, cultural attractions, and picturesque landscapes to a global audience.
