Riyadh Creative Summit returns to JAX District from October 3–5, bringing AI, art and business together while putting human creativity at the centre.
RIYADH: Riyadh Creative Summit is returning to JAX District this October with a timely question for artists, filmmakers, entrepreneurs and designers: what happens to human creativity when artificial intelligence becomes part of everyday creative work?
Running from October 3 to 5, Creative Summit 2026 will bring together Saudi and international creatives, investors, entrepreneurs, filmmakers and industry leaders. The three-day festival will run from 5pm to 10pm and marks the event’s second Saudi edition.
This year’s theme, “Behind Every Intelligence… Is A Human”, puts people rather than algorithms at the centre of the conversation.
What will Creative Summit 2026 explore?
Instead of concentrating on broad predictions about whether AI will replace creative professionals, organisers are promising practical discussions about how the technology is already changing creative work.
The Riyadh Creative Summit programme will examine AI integration alongside sustainability and business solutions for the creative industries. Sessions are designed to connect Saudi talent with regional agencies and international industry leaders while giving professionals practical ideas they can apply to their work.
AI is therefore being presented as a tool rather than the entire story.
Creative Summit co-founder Mai Salama has emphasised the importance of human experience as algorithms and automation become increasingly influential. Organisers say intuition, imagination and lived experience remain fundamental to producing meaningful creative work.
Why JAX District matters
The choice of JAX District reflects Riyadh’s rapidly expanding cultural landscape.
Once an industrial area containing more than 100 warehouses, JAX has been transformed into an arts and culture destination featuring studios, galleries, exhibition spaces and creative organisations. It has also hosted major events including the Diriyah Contemporary Art Biennale, Noor Riyadh and XP Music Futures.
The district is increasingly operating throughout the year rather than only during major exhibitions. The Diriyah Biennale Foundation recently announced an expanded cultural programme featuring up to eight events each month.
That ecosystem makes JAX a natural setting for conversations about where technology, art and business intersect.
Creative Summit itself has operated across the region for more than 13 years. Organisers say previous editions have generated more than 280 million digital impressions, while last year’s Riyadh event attracted 21,000 visitors across three days.
For the Riyadh Creative Summit, the bigger discussion is therefore not simply whether AI can create. It is how people can use increasingly capable technology without losing the ideas, experiences and human judgement that make creative work distinctive.
Impact to expect
Collaboration. The summit could strengthen connections between Saudi creatives and international businesses while helping artists and companies understand how AI can support, rather than define, their creative work.
