Lewis Hamilton, the seven-time world champion, is making a jaw-dropping switch from Mercedes to Ferrari for the 2025 season, ending his long stint with the silver arrows.

Hamilton, who has been with Mercedes since 2013, appeared to settle any doubts about his future by signing a new contract last year. Mercedes’ team principal, Toto Wolff, praised their successful partnership, emphasizing Hamilton’s role not just as a phenomenal driver but also as a leader within the team.

However, with two seasons passing without a race win, Hamilton seems ready for a new adventure. The 39-year-old Brit, without a doubt an F1 legend, is set to realize a dream by racing in Ferrari’s iconic red car.

Last year, Ferrari dangled a tempting £40 million deal in front of Hamilton, but he opted to stay loyal to Mercedes, signing a hefty £100 million contract covering 2024 and 2025. Now, it seems there might have been a sneaky ‘escape clause’ in that contract.

Ferrari’s plan is to pair Hamilton with Charles Leclerc, who just inked a new contract. Together, they aim to challenge Red Bull’s dominance in the F1 circuit.

This move marks a significant shake-up in the F1 landscape. Hamilton, who initially denied talks with Ferrari, eventually admitted to discussions before securing his deal with Mercedes. Now, as he gears up for a new chapter in the iconic red of Ferrari, fans are left buzzing with excitement about the potential showdowns and surprises the 2025 season might bring.
