VAXTrack application now available on both Android and iOS platforms has so far been downloaded by over 2,000 users.

Dubai: Veda Fernandes, a final-year high school student at Dubai International Academy, Emirates Hills, has successfully built and launched a groundbreaking mobile application that revolutionizes the way mothers of young children manage pediatric vaccine schedules, doctors’ appointments, and vaccination records. VAXTrack, an innovative and convenient tool, is now available both on Android and iOS platforms and has so far been downloaded by over 2,000 users.

With a vision to empower parents with a user-friendly and efficient tool, Veda conceptualized, designed, and created the VAXTrack App over the course of 15 months. Inspired during her internship at a leading hospital in Qusais in July 2022, Veda witnessed first-hand the struggles mothers face in keeping up with their children’s vaccination schedules. This experience ignited the idea to develop a solution that simplifies their lives.

“My specific passion is the intersection of medicine and technology, which I see as a defining trend of the future. During my rounds in the Pediatric section, I noticed that many mothers found it challenging to keep track of their children’s vaccination schedules and maintain accurate records. Traditional methods like paper records were often misplaced or outdated. This drove me to develop an easy-to-use mobile app that addresses these concerns and ensures timely vaccinations for children,” said Veda.

With no prior experience or knowledge in coding, she resorted to resources online and came across a no-code program called FlutterFlow from YouTube. She meticulously learned how to use the platform to create her Minimum Viable Product (MVP) version, which she used to get feedback and fine-tune the app. She then collaborated with a freelance developer in India to bring this vision to life, crafting a seamless app that simplifies the parenting journey.

“I spoke with numerous mothers to understand their unique requirements and concerns. This app is a result of their invaluable insights and feedback. By leveraging the power of technology, we have created a tool that will serve as a reliable digital pediatric vaccination assistant for parents,” explained Veda.

The VAXTrack App offers an intuitive interface designed to cater to the specific needs of parents. Features include tracking pediatric vaccine schedules, managing doctors’ appointments, and maintaining a complete record of their child’s vaccinations. The VAXTrack App has now been live on both the Google Play Store and App Store since May 2023, garnering an impressive 2000+ downloads to date.
