DHA and KHDA come together to enhance quality of life for students

Dubai: Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) joined hands by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the ongoing Arab Health Congress and Exhibition. The collaboration aims to enhance health prevention and overall well-being across private schools in Dubai.

The MoU, signed by H.E. Awadh Seghayer Al Ketbi, Director General of DHA, and H.E. Aisha Abdulla Miran, Director General of KHDA, focuses on improving the health and well-being of students, school staff, and parents. It involves updating policies, guidelines, and directives related to health aspects in schools, overseeing health awareness programs, and promoting healthy lifestyles, including physical activity and nutrition.

The agreement emphasizes the DHA’s supervision in health-related matters in private schools, implementation of health programs, training healthcare personnel, and collaboration in school health research. It also addresses support for students with special needs in specialized centers and educational facilities.

The MoU covers nine areas of support in the disease prevention system, and both parties commit to addressing any potential emergency health cases. H.E. Awadh Seghayer Al Ketbi emphasized the DHA’s commitment to achieving high health sustainability and quality of life in Dubai, particularly within the school community. He stressed the shared responsibility to create a healthy and safe environment for students, supporting their overall well-being and academic success.

H.E. Aisha Abdulla Miran welcomed the expanded partnership with the DHA, highlighting the joint commitment to ensuring the health and safety of students and the entire educational community. The MoU aims to integrate efforts to enhance healthy lifestyles, nutrition, and health awareness, ensuring emergency response and support to students under all circumstances.

Miran expressed gratitude for the collaborative efforts of government teams and private school staff in Dubai, aiming to enhance the quality of life for students and provide education aligned with global standards and Dubai’s vision. The comprehensive MoU reflects a commitment to a healthy and happy school community.
