The UAE Pavilion itself is currently holding a similar exhibition as part of the Innovation Festival, highlighting inventions including a material that absorbs carbon emissions, round-the-clock solar power, technology that makes chemotherapy less debilitating, and a system helping stroke patients relearn how to write.

Various government departments and private agencies are taking part in the UAE Innovates exhibition, which is divided into five themes: Health Innovations, Future Economy, Utilising Data, Tech for Good, and Green Barjeel, which explores growing microalgae for biofuel.
