Barbie movie: UAE clears Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling film for screening

The UAE Media Council has approved release of the highly anticipated Barbie movie in the country.

The movie has already broken box office records in other nations. It has been generating excitement for its depiction of a doll and her friends in a picture-perfect pink world.

The new date for Barbie’s UAE cinema debut is August 31.

Hollywood stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling play the lead parts in the movie, which is directed by the acclaimed, Oscar-nominated writer-director Greta Gerwig.

The movie was initially scheduled to open in UAE theaters on July 20.

As a result, several Barbie lovers who live in the UAE have traveled outside of their country to see the movie.
