ABU DHABI: The UAE water conservation message will take centre stage at mosques across the country on Friday, September 18, with worshippers being encouraged to regard water as a precious blessing and make responsible use part of everyday family life.
The nationwide sermon, titled “We Made from Water Every Living Thing”, focuses on the importance of water to human life and the responsibility of individuals to protect it for future generations.
Worshippers will be reminded that previous generations often travelled significant distances and endured difficult conditions to secure water, while modern access can make it easier to overlook its value.
The sermon draws on verses from the Quran to explain water’s role in drinking, agriculture, livestock, purification and sustaining the natural environment.
Why is water conservation part of Friday’s sermon?
The message connects gratitude with practical action. Worshippers are being encouraged not simply to appreciate water, but also to avoid unnecessary consumption.
