Oman Climate Week 2026 has opened in Muscat, bringing policymakers, businesses and experts together to advance clean energy, water security and practical climate solutions.
MUSCAT: Oman Climate Week 2026 opened on September 14 at the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre, bringing government leaders, businesses, investors, researchers and climate experts together for three days of discussions on practical solutions for a lower-carbon and more resilient future.
The second edition runs until September 16 and is hosted by Oman’s Environment Authority. The programme connects climate policy with industry, science, technology and investment, with particular attention on solutions that can be implemented across Oman and the wider region.
What is Oman Climate Week focusing on?
Clean energy is one of the central themes, with sessions exploring renewable power, green hydrogen, energy efficiency and emerging technologies.
Water security is another important part of the agenda. Oman and other countries across the region face the challenge of meeting growing water demand in a hot, dry climate, making efficient water management and climate resilience increasingly important.
Oman Climate Week 2026 also covers climate finance, carbon markets, circular economy, sustainable cities, smart mobility, waste management and nature-based solutions.
The Climate Solutions Exhibition is showcasing environmental technologies and sustainable products, giving companies, government bodies and innovators opportunities to explore partnerships and investment.

What new features are being introduced?
This year’s programme includes the Ecothon Oman Climate Innovation Hackathon, bringing multidisciplinary teams together to develop practical responses to environmental challenges.
A new CEO Panel will bring business leaders involved in Oman’s energy transition onto one stage, while a Deals Hub has been created for agreements, partnerships and memorandums of understanding.
Other elements include a Women in Climate Forum, Youth for Climate programme, specialised workshops and conferences focused on renewable energy, green hydrogen and sustainable waste management.
The event is also looking beyond Oman. Discussions on the road to COP31 are examining international cooperation, Nationally Determined Contributions and implementation of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.
