The Clean UAE Campaign has launched its Silver Jubilee edition, bringing volunteers across all seven emirates together for environmental action this December.
DUBAI: The Clean UAE Campaign is celebrating a major milestone as Emirates Environmental Group launches the 25th cycle of the nationwide environmental initiative, marking a quarter-century of community action across the country.
The Silver Jubilee edition was officially launched during a press conference in Dubai on September 9. Organised by Emirates Environmental Group, the campaign continues under the patronage of the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment. Since 2022, it has also been recognised by the UAE Cabinet as one of the country’s National Community Action Campaigns.
When will the 25th Clean UAE campaign begin?
The environmental activities will begin in Dubai on December 5, 2026, before travelling across every emirate.
Sharjah follows on December 7, Fujairah on December 9, Ajman on December 10, Umm Al Quwain on December 12 and Ras Al Khaimah on December 14. The nationwide programme concludes in Abu Dhabi on December 15.
Thousands of volunteers from businesses, government entities, schools and universities, diplomatic missions, community organisations and families are expected to participate.

What has Clean UAE achieved in 25 years?
The numbers demonstrate the scale of the initiative.
Since 2007, the Clean UAE Campaign has mobilised 1,149,005 volunteers across the seven emirates.
Participants have removed 1,754,634 kilograms of waste from beaches, deserts, wadis, mangroves, parks and other public areas. Their work has contributed to cleaning and restoring approximately 1,288 square kilometres of land.
Waste collection and recycling activities have also contributed towards mitigating more than 186,265 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions, according to EEG.

What will happen during the Silver Jubilee edition?
The campaign will once again combine large-scale clean-up activities with environmental education and community participation.
Corporations, industries, government organisations, educational institutions, diplomatic missions and individuals are being encouraged to volunteer. Businesses can also participate as partners and sponsors.
EEG says the initiative is intended to build environmental responsibility beyond individual clean-up events by encouraging communities to consider waste reduction, recycling and protection of natural environments throughout the year.
The 25th edition also gives the campaign an opportunity to highlight how environmental volunteering has developed in the UAE over the past quarter-century.
From removing litter in deserts to protecting beaches and mangroves, the programme has expanded into a nationwide movement involving people from different sectors and communities.
As the Clean UAE Campaign enters its Silver Jubilee year, organisers are now looking to build on that participation while encouraging another generation of volunteers to take responsibility for the country’s natural spaces.
