Nine-year-old Indian, Shreyovi Mehta, has just made waves in the wildlife photography world by winning the Runner-Up award in the “10 Years and Under” category at the 2024 Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition. Hosted by the Natural History Museum in London, this competition is a big deal, and Shreyovi’s achievement makes her the youngest Indian to ever bag such a prestigious recognition.

Her award-winning photo, titled “In the Spotlight,” beautifully captures two Indian peafowls standing against a misty backdrop in Keoladeo National Park, Bharatpur, India. The image is stunning, with the peafowls perfectly silhouetted, creating a magical, almost otherworldly feel. It’s hard to believe this incredible shot was taken by someone so young!

Shreyovi’s love for nature and wildlife shines through her photography. Even at such a young age, she’s been exploring the art of capturing the beauty of the natural world with her camera. Her family has been a big part of her journey, encouraging her passion and giving her the tools to pursue it.
