This day in history we feature, Jaws. “Jaws“, based on the book by Peter Benchley, was released on this day in 1975.

The film was directed by Steven Spielberg, and starred Roy Scheider as police chief Martin Brody, Robert Shaw as shark fisherman Quint, and Richard Dreyfuss as oceanographer Matt Hooper.
The story of a great white shark that terrorizes a New England resort town became an instant blockbuster and the highest-grossing film in movie history until it was bested by 1977’s Star Wars. The film, a breakthrough for director Spielberg, spawned several sequels.
