ABU DHABI: The UAE’s Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications Office has launched a new whitepaper on remote work systems UAE, focusing on the best practices and future policies the government has adopted to enhance flexible work models.

The paper, created with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), explores how the UAE government used its experience during the COVID-19 pandemic to develop a comprehensive framework for hybrid and remote work. The aim is to leverage emerging technologies to enhance productivity and improve the overall experience of remote workers.

Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, highlighted the importance of scientific research in shaping government systems, particularly for remote work. This research supports the UAE’s vision to lead globally in technological advancements and digital transformation, fostering a future-ready government work system.

The whitepaper also covers the societal impact of remote work, focusing on its role in boosting productivity by 4.6% following the pandemic, especially with fewer people commuting. It also reviews the outcomes of the UAE’s “Remote” Forum, where ministers and officials discussed challenges, solutions, and strategies for adapting remote work systems in the future.

Global examples from countries like the US, Portugal, and Norway were included, showcasing successful remote work policies. These practices are contributing to shaping the future of work in sectors like legal services, human resources, innovation, and cybersecurity.
