ABU DHABI: The United Arab Emirates has successfully brokered a new exchange of 300 captives between Russia and Ukraine, reinforcing its position as a key diplomatic mediator. The latest swap involved 150 Ukrainian captives and 150 Russian captives, bringing the total number exchanged through UAE mediation efforts to 2,883.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) praised both nations for their cooperation and acknowledged their trust in the UAE as a neutral and effective mediator. This marks the twelfth successful mediation by the UAE since the beginning of 2024, highlighting the country’s growing diplomatic influence in global conflict resolution.
