DUBAI: Roblox, the immersive gaming and creation platform, is now available in Arabic, expanding support and accessibility for millions of users worldwide across desktop, mobile, PlayStation, and Xbox.

Announced at the World Governments Summit in Dubai, Roblox CEO David Baszucki shared the news during a fireside chat, emphasising the company’s goal of making the platform more inclusive for its growing Middle East and North Africa (MENA) community.

“At Roblox, our mission is to connect a billion people with optimism and civility. Supporting Arabic allows us to better serve millions of users in the MENA region and beyond,” said Baszucki.

Roblox boasts 88.9 million daily active users who engage in a wide range of user-generated games and virtual experiences. With Arabic now among 16 supported languages, the company aims to strengthen its footprint in MENA, where its user base and engagement have surged by over 75% since 2021.

In 2024, Roblox ranked second on the iOS App Store and fifth on Google Play in the gaming category across the region. The latest update extends Arabic language support to the platform’s automatic translation tools, helping creators localise their games without manual effort.

To ensure a safe gaming environment, Roblox’s text chat filtering system now detects and blocks inappropriate content in Arabic, complementing human moderation to enforce community standards.

With this expansion, Roblox continues its mission to reimagine virtual interactions, providing a safe, inclusive, and engaging experience for Arabic speakers worldwide.
