The UAE and seven other nations condemned Israel’s Gaza ceasefire violations, warning of risks to peace efforts and regional stability.
ABU DHABI: The Foreign Ministers of the United Arab Emirates, Türkiye, Egypt, Jordan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar have issued a joint statement condemning Israel’s repeated violations of the Gaza ceasefire. The violations have resulted in over a thousand Palestinian casualties, further complicating ongoing efforts to stabilise the region.
The joint statement warned that these actions threaten to derail the fragile truce and obstruct collective attempts to implement United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803 and move into the second phase of the proposed political process.
The ministers stressed the urgent need for all parties to fully commit to the terms of the ceasefire and called for maximum restraint to prevent further escalation. They urged an end to all violations that may undermine progress toward early recovery, humanitarian relief, and long-term reconstruction in Gaza.
The countries reiterated their support for a just and lasting peace rooted in international law and the principle of Palestinian self-determination. They also reaffirmed the need to create conducive conditions for political advancement, including the implementation of relevant UN resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
In their statement, the ministers expressed concern that ongoing ceasefire breaches could jeopardise broader efforts to transition Gaza toward greater stability and undermine the prospects for lasting peace.
The call for de-escalation comes as regional and international actors continue working toward a negotiated solution, amid rising tensions and continued humanitarian concerns. The eight nations jointly reaffirmed their commitment to diplomatic engagement and the pursuit of a sustainable resolution to the conflict.
