FIFA World Cup Stadium holds the largest gathering of EID Prayer at Doha

Doha: Education City Stadium, also known as Qatar Foundation Stadium with a 44,667-seat capacity, which hosted eight World Cup matches until the quarterfinals last year, today hosted one of the largest gatherings of Eid Namaz of more than 15 thousand worshipers together, who prayed the Eid namaz at the stadium. This is the first time that Eid prayers were held at the stadium, which was one of the venues of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.  

Education City Stadium was designed to reflect a diamond in the desert. The Stadium hosted 5 group stage matches, one match from the round of 16 matches, and one quarter-final. The stadium’s seating capacity is around 44,667 seats. 

Minaretein – the mosque and learning center located in Qatar Foundation’s Education City, announces that “After the prayer, join us for an Eid Festival hosted by Minaretein Centre. We couldn’t be more thrilled to share this special moment with you”. In addition to the prayer, they will be hosting celebrations and festivities that are fun for all ages, especially children. There will be face painting, games, food vendors, and other activities to keep the entire family entertained and excited.

HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser also joined the gathering for prayer. She serves as Chairperson of the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science, and Community Development (QF). Education City Stadium is now expected to become a sporting and cultural hub for the local community including students and faculty. The Eid prayers mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan and provide an opportunity for us to come together as a community and celebrate the blessings of Allah.
