DUBAI: Spotify has highlighted the remarkable global journey of Pakistani music icon Atif Aslam ahead of the release of his highly anticipated Atif Aslam new album, Subah Aye Na, on July 31, 2026.
The streaming platform released new listening insights showing the singer’s enduring popularity more than two decades into his career. According to Spotify, Atif Aslam has accumulated nearly 8 billion streams, attracts more than 30 million monthly listeners, and has been streamed in 184 countries, underlining his status as one of South Asia’s most recognised voices.
While his music remains deeply rooted in Pakistan, Spotify said 96 per cent of his streams over the past year came from listeners outside the country. The United States, Bangladesh, the United Kingdom, Australia and the United Arab Emirates ranked among the top markets where fans streamed his songs, reflecting his broad international appeal.
The platform also revealed that Atif’s music features on more than 37.5 million user-created playlists, ranging from wedding celebrations and road trips to nostalgic collections and personal favourites. Spotify said the numbers demonstrate how his songs continue to become part of listeners’ everyday lives across generations.
The singer’s popularity also remains strong among younger audiences. Spotify reported that Gen Z accounts for 85 per cent of his streams, while more than 41 million listeners either discovered or returned to his music during the past year. The figures suggest his catalogue continues to resonate with both long-time fans and a new generation of listeners.
Rutaba Yaqub, Spotify’s Artist and Label Partnerships Manager for Pakistan and the UAE, said Atif Aslam’s music has become part of the collective memory of millions of listeners. She said the streaming data reflects the timeless appeal of his songs and the lasting emotional connection he has built with audiences across Pakistan and around the world.
Sharing a message before the album launch, Atif Aslam said, “This album is a true representation of freeing myself from the chaos and meeting my real self. Stay tuned. I can’t wait for all of you to hear it.”
Subah Aye Na features eight tracks, including the title song, Safar Mein Hun, Ishq, Let’s Have Some Fun, Sun Sajna, Hun Ishq Mein, Char Yaar and Sachay Waday. Fans can pre-save the album on Spotify before its global release.
