Zamzam Al Hammadi secured her first PFL MENA victory as UAE fighters impressed at the Pride of Arabia event in Dubai.
DUBAI: Zamzam Al Hammadi delivered one of the standout performances at the Pride of Arabia event in Dubai after securing her first victory inside the PFL MENA SmartCage. The Emirati fighter earned a unanimous decision win against Egypt’s Abeer Mansour during the amateur showcase strawweight bout held at Coca-Cola Arena.
The 18-year-old received strong support from the Dubai crowd during her highly anticipated debut appearance at the event, which was organised in collaboration with Dubai Sports Council and Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism. Following the contest, Zamzam Al Hammadi said competing in front of home fans made the experience especially memorable and expressed hope of returning for more victories in future PFL events.
Earlier in the evening, Emirati fighter Butti Al Ameri opened the UAE’s successful night with a dominant unanimous decision victory over Egypt’s Hamada Othman in the amateur showcase featherweight division. Al Ameri said he was proud to represent the UAE while continuing to improve through each competition.
The Pride of Arabia event attracted strong attendance and regional media attention as Dubai hosted the first-ever PFL MENA season opener. The tournament brought together leading mixed martial arts fighters from across the Middle East and North Africa, reflecting the sport’s growing popularity throughout the region.
In the main event, Tunisia’s Mehdi Saadi defeated the UAE’s Mohammad Yahya by split decision after three rounds in the featherweight division. Algeria’s Ilyas Djiroun also produced one of the biggest surprises of the night after stopping Morocco’s Salah Eddine Hamli by first-round technical knockout in the lightweight quarterfinals.
Zamzam Al Hammadi remained among the biggest talking points of the event as fans celebrated another milestone moment for Emirati women in combat sports. Organisers said the championship further strengthened Dubai’s growing reputation as a global destination for international sporting and entertainment events.
