The ‘World’s Coolest Winter’ campaign generated AED12.5 billion in hotel revenue from 5 million UAE guests over six weeks.

DUBAI: The UAE’s “World’s Coolest Winter” campaign has generated AED12.5 billion in hotel revenues, with nearly 5 million hotel guests recorded nationwide over a six-week span. Hotel occupancy rates reached a global high of 84%, according to the Minister of Economy and Tourism.

Minister Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri confirmed that the sixth edition of the campaign, which ran from mid-December 2025, reflected the UAE’s growing global appeal as a tourism hub. The effort aligned with the UAE Tourism Strategy 2031 and demonstrated the nation’s capabilities in infrastructure, services and destination development.

The “World’s Coolest Winter” campaign gained notable digital traction, reaching 900 million users through platforms such as Instagram and TikTok. Over 50 content creators, both local and international, took part in promoting the UAE’s diverse winter offerings, from lush green landscapes to eco-tourism highlights.

Minister Al Marri stressed that the campaign’s success mirrors the effectiveness of government vision and tourism policy. “Thanks to our leadership, the campaign delivered remarkable results that reinforced the UAE’s tourism competitiveness,” he said in remarks to Emirates News Agency (WAM).

He revealed that tourism currently contributes around 15% to the national GDP, inching closer to the UAE’s goal of 17% by 2031. Preliminary figures for 2025 suggest the sector is on track for even greater achievements.

He also highlighted that the UAE’s tourism infrastructure, including modern road networks, airports and facilities, makes it an all-year destination. The “World’s Coolest Winter” campaign has positioned the UAE as a model for sustainable tourism growth and innovation.
