US direct investment in Dubai surged to AED14.3 billion in H1 2025, doubling 2024’s total, showing robust investor confidence.

DUBAI: US direct investment in Dubai reached an impressive AED14.3 billion in the first half of 2025, marking a 100 percent increase over total US investment during 2024. The announcement was made by Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, at the Dubai Business Forum – USA.

The dramatic rise in investment is a strong indicator of Dubai’s growing appeal as a top-tier global business destination for American enterprises. Lootah highlighted that US companies increasingly view Dubai as the ideal launchpad into high-growth global markets—especially in Africa.

Backing this claim, he cited that Dubai’s non-oil trade with African countries reached AED354.5 billion in 2024, significantly higher than the United States’ own trade with Africa, which stood at AED264.2 billion. This underscores Dubai’s role as a powerful commercial bridge between the US and Africa.

From 2018 to 2024, Dubai achieved AED466 billion in exports and re-exports, with a cumulative growth of 88 percent and a compound annual growth rate of 11.1 percent. This trajectory showcases the Emirate’s capacity to deliver consistent trade expansion and global connectivity.

Lootah also revealed that 145 American investors committed AED3.6 billion into 158 projects in Dubai’s digital economy between 2020 and 2024. This significant investment reflects growing confidence in Dubai’s innovative ecosystem and its support for digital entrepreneurship.
