The UAE Year Of Award has been launched to honour people and organisations whose work is making a positive difference in communities across the UAE.
ABU DHABI: Under the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE has launched the UAE Year Of Award, a new national award that recognises people, families and organisations making a positive impact in society.
The award is part of the UAE Year Of initiative and aims to make sure the spirit of each annual theme continues long after the year ends. It celebrates inspiring stories, community projects and ideas that help improve people’s lives and encourage others to contribute.

Applications for the first edition are now open. Families can share their inspiring stories, while organisations can submit projects through the official UAE Year Of website. The deadline for applications is September 10, 2026.
The UAE Year Of initiative is overseen by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, together with H.H. Sheikha Mariam bint Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairperson of the Presidential Court for National Projects.
The UAE Year Of Award is based on three main values: impact, sustainability and inspiration. It aims to recognise people and organisations whose work creates real change, supports communities and inspires others to get involved.
There are five award categories. They include the Main Award, Collective Contribution, Government Champion, Private Sector Champion and Civil Sector Champion. The awards will recognise outstanding efforts that support the goals of the UAE Year Of initiative.

This year’s award is being organised in partnership with the Ministry of Family, reflecting the focus of this year’s national theme. Winners will be announced during the UAE Government Annual Meetings.
The UAE Year Of Award also creates a long-term system to recognise community contributions every year. It is designed to keep encouraging people and organisations to work together for the benefit of the country.
The UAE Year Of initiative brings together government entities, businesses and communities around shared national goals. Through the new award, the UAE hopes to inspire more people to take part and help build stronger, more connected communities.
