DUBAI: The sixth UAE SWAT Challenge, the largest and most ambitious edition since its global debut in 2019, will kick off on February 1, 2025, at Al Ruwayyah Training City. Hosted by Dubai Police, this year’s event brings together 114 elite teams from 48 countries, including eight nations competing for the first time, five women’s teams, and six debut entries from police academies.

With a prize pool of $260,000, the competition will be broadcast live daily on Dubai Sports TV, Emarat TV, and the challenge’s social platforms. International media delegations will further amplify the event’s global reach.

At a press conference held at the Dubai Police Officers Club, Major General Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Operations, highlighted the event’s growth under the leadership of Lieutenant General Abdulla Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police. Since its transformation into a global platform in 2018, participation has soared, from 61 teams in 2019 to 114 this year.

Rigorous challenges await

Teams will compete in five events: the Tactical Challenge, Assault Challenge, Officer Rescue Competition, Tower Challenge, and Obstacle Course Challenge. Points will be tallied daily, with the overall winners crowned at the grand finale.

Brigadier Obaid Mubarak Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Organising Committee, assured that Dubai is fully prepared for the event, emphasising its role in fostering global tactical excellence and collaboration.

Expert judging and media reach

Thirty-three judges, experts in tactical operations, will oversee the competition. A dedicated media centre will cater to over 70 journalists, ensuring global coverage across platforms like YouTube, TikTok, and Shahid.
