RTA smart bus station launches at Mall of the Emirates with AI-powered services and seamless digital transport features.

DUBAI: RTA smart bus station operations have officially launched at Mall of the Emirates, marking a major step in Dubai’s push towards digitally powered public transport. The Roads and Transport Authority introduced the emirate’s first fully smart bus station, designed to deliver seamless mobility experiences through advanced technologies and sustainable infrastructure.

Connected directly to Mall of the Emirates Metro Station, the new hub serves 11 bus routes linking key residential, commercial, and tourist destinations across Dubai. The station provides 24/7 digital customer services, helping reduce waiting times and improve journey planning for passengers.

The RTA smart bus station integrates AI-powered systems for crowd monitoring and violation detection, enhancing safety and operational efficiency. Real-time digital displays provide live updates on bus arrivals, occupancy levels, metro timings, taxi availability, and nearby destinations, allowing commuters to make informed travel decisions.

Passengers can also access a virtual assistant kiosk offering journey planning, customer support, Lost and Found services, and direct contact with the Call Centre. Smart ticketing systems and digital top-up machines further streamline the customer experience.

Officials said the project aligns with Dubai’s wider ambition to become a global leader in sustainable and intelligent mobility solutions. The station has been developed using environmentally friendly technologies, including solar panels and smart sensors that monitor air quality and optimise energy use.

The RTA smart bus station also includes dedicated facilities for drivers and modern amenities designed to improve passenger comfort. Authorities confirmed the concept will be expanded across Dubai in the future to strengthen integration between transport networks and support growing demand for public mobility solutions.

With its focus on innovation, sustainability, and efficiency, the station represents a new model for the future of urban transport in Dubai.
