According to latest reports, if drivers in the UAE agree to assist a national road safety programme, their traffic penalty points will be removed.

Drivers have the chance to get four black traffic points off of their record by August 28, which is Accident-Free Day.

For those who participate actively in the nationwide campaign “Accident-Free Day,” the Federal Traffic Council proposed the idea to strike off four black traffic points. The “Accident-Free Day” programme intends to expand on current efforts made by a number of concerned organisations around the country.

Brig. General Engineer Hussain Ahmed Al Harthy, Chair of the Federal Traffic Council, detailed the purpose behind this initiative.

The project, according to Al Harthy, is intended to increase awareness of traffic safety. The announcement acts as a motivator as well as a reminder of the importance of the day in raising traffic safety and awareness.
