ABU DHABI: Liwa Sports Club has announced plans to enter the Guinness World Records, aiming to register Liwa Caravan Parks as the world’s largest serviced caravan parking area. This follows the success of the Liwa International Festival, which concluded on January 4 at Moreeb Dune.
Since opening in 2018 during the festival, the parks have grown into a global hub for camping enthusiasts. Starting with 144 caravans, the site expanded to 296 caravans in 2019 and 448 caravans by 2021, integrating essential services and an electronic booking system.
In 2022, the parks increased their capacity to 592 caravans. The following year brought major upgrades, including paved roads, sports fields, and public facilities, boosting the capacity to 840 caravans. By 2024, the club introduced eco-friendly golf carts, a unified booking system, and enhancements to ensure a peaceful and safe environment for visitors.
The club’s management highlighted these developments as part of their mission to make Liwa Caravan Parks a premier global destination. They aim to set a benchmark in recreational caravan facilities, enhancing the UAE’s reputation for innovation and excellence in hospitality.
Liwa Caravan Parks have become a favourite among camping enthusiasts worldwide, offering a blend of modern amenities and scenic desert landscapes. With these continued improvements, Liwa Sports Club hopes to secure global recognition and inspire similar initiatives internationally.
