The UAE issued a statement on Iranian attacks on UAE, condemning missile and drone strikes while affirming its right to defend sovereignty under international law.
ABU DHABI: The United Arab Emirates has strongly condemned the Iranian attacks on UAE, describing the missile and drone strikes as brutal and unprovoked aggression targeting civilian sites and infrastructure.
In an official statement issued on Sunday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the attacks involved the launch of more than 1,400 ballistic missiles and drones towards the country. Authorities confirmed that the strikes resulted in civilian deaths and injuries.
The ministry said the Iranian attacks on UAE represent a flagrant violation of international law and the United Nations Charter. It added that the attacks constitute an infringement of the UAE’s sovereignty and territorial integrity while posing a direct threat to the nation’s security and stability.
Officials emphasised that the UAE remains committed to stability and does not seek to be drawn into wider conflict or escalation.
However, the government reiterated that it has the full right to take necessary measures to protect the country and its people.
The ministry stated that under international law and the UN Charter, the UAE has the legitimate right to defend its sovereignty, national security and territorial integrity.
Authorities also stressed that safeguarding the safety of citizens and residents remains a top priority during the current situation.
The statement reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to maintaining stability while responding decisively to threats against the country.
Officials noted that the response to the Iranian attacks on UAE will continue to focus on protecting national security and ensuring the safety of communities across the country.
