Gold prices in the UAE edged higher today with 24‑carat gold above AED 550 per gram as demand stays firm amid strong global bullion rates.
DUBAI: Gold prices in the United Arab Emirates continued their upward momentum on Monday, with key benchmarks showing firm gains early this week. According to live market rates, 24‑carat gold — the most traded purity in the UAE — is currently priced at around AED 550.25 per gram, while 22‑carat gold stands near AED 509.50 per gram. Other purity levels such as 21K and 18K are trading at about AED 488.75 and AED 418.75 per gram, respectively, reflecting steady demand across categories.
Bullion prices in the UAE are closely linked to global spot gold movements and investor sentiment in safe‑haven assets. In recent sessions, international gold rates have hovered near multi‑year highs, a trend that has been mirrored in local prices with 24‑carat gold breaching the AED 550 mark for the first time this year.
Industry analysts say that gold’s appeal as a store of value remains strong as markets react to global economic factors such as inflation expectations and currency fluctuations. Jewellery buyers and investors in the UAE often monitor these daily gold rates before making purchasing decisions, especially in major trading hubs like Dubai Gold Souk, where hundreds of dealers operate.
Residents and visitors looking to buy or trade gold should note that retail prices may vary slightly from listed rates due to dealer premiums or market timing. Nonetheless, the general trend continues to signal robust interest in gold as both an investment and cultural asset in the UAE.
