Dubai expands EV Green Charger network to 1,860+ points, supporting the UAE Net Zero 2050 strategy and green mobility goals.
DUBAI: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has announced a major expansion of its EV Green Charger network, which now includes over 1,860 charging stations across the city. This growth reflects Dubai’s commitment to promoting sustainable transport and advancing the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 strategy.
By mid-January 2026, the initiative had attracted over 23,600 registered users and delivered more than 55,200 megawatt hours of clean electricity since its inception in 2014 — enough to power 276 million kilometres of electric vehicle journeys. The expansion comes in collaboration with various government and private sector partners.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, emphasised that this initiative supports the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to make Dubai a global hub for green economy and future-forward mobility. He also highlighted its alignment with the Dubai Green Mobility Strategy 2030, focused on cutting emissions, improving air quality and enhancing urban sustainability.
The EV Green Charger network now offers four types of chargers: ultra-fast, fast, public, and wall-box. Users can locate charging points via DEWA’s official website, smart app, and 14 other digital channels. New users can activate a Green Charger account within an hour of vehicle registration, with ‘Guest Mode’ available for visitor convenience.
This EV Green Charger expansion reinforces Dubai’s status as one of the most environmentally progressive cities, offering a seamless user experience for the rising number of electric vehicle owners.
