Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) introduced the ‘Dubai Unified Licence’ (DUL) initiative to simplify business processes. The DUL provides a single digital registry for businesses, whether they have a mainland or free zone license. Created in collaboration with the Dubai Free Zones Council, this registry consolidates economic establishments into one platform for easy data management and sharing.

The goal is to standardize and streamline business procedures in Dubai according to global best practices. The initiative ensures that up-to-date company records, including license details, are consistently maintained in the registry, making it efficient for businesses to set up and manage operations.

The ‘Dubai Unified Licence’ simplifies the process for businesses, making Dubai more competitive and attractive to international investors and entrepreneurs. The unified digital platform enhances transparency and access to business information, reinforcing Dubai’s reputation as a reliable investment destination. These efforts align with Dubai’s ambition to be among the top three global cities for business and investment.

As part of the initiative, establishments undergo validation and verification to receive a unique digital identity. Over 50,000 licenses have been issued so far, with plans to issue more, covering all registered companies in Dubai mainland and Free Zones.
