World: A new haircut called the jellyfish bob has become the latest style trend, with even Hollywood A-lister Nicole Kidman jumping on the bandwagon.

Named for its close resemblance to the boneless sea creature, the style is essentially two layers of hair.

The outer layer of hair is cut quite short in the style of a bob, and the inner layer is kept long in an almost mullet-like hairdo.

But instead of a mullet and its business in the front, party in the back nature, the jellyfish-inspired style sees the bob cut all the way around the head.

The new ‘do is making waves on TikTok, with videos under the jellyfish bob hashtag amassing more than 43 billion views.

TikTokkers have taken to the popular social media platform to show off their new locks.

Fashion influencer Dear Tina shared a 360-degree view of her luscious locks to show off her jellyfish bob.

One TikTok user said: “I’m obsessed with this hairstyle. I LOVE IT.”

A second TikTokker commented: “I’ve cut my hair into this even though Mom didn’t approve because she doesn’t want to ruin my hair on my graduation day but I slayed on that day.”

A third added: “[The] best thing is that if you don’t think it looks good on you just chop it off.”

Some, however, were not so taken with the latest ‘in’ look.

One user with the TikTok username ‘Meatprison’ devoted a whole video to roasting the latest style.

“What the hell is a jellyfish haircut and why does it look dumb,” they posted.

Their video included the text: “I love when TikTok recommends me videos of some stupidly named new trendy haircut because every time I click on it I’m shown videos of the ugliest looking hair I have ever seen in my entire life.”
