The UAE is gifting a memorial to Kuwait’s Al Shaheed Park to honour shared heritage and deep bilateral relations.
KUWAIT CITY: The United Arab Emirates has announced the presentation of a commemorative monument to Kuwait, to be installed at the prominent Al Shaheed Park in Kuwait City. The gesture is part of a broader initiative celebrating the enduring partnership between the two Gulf nations.
Commissioned under the theme “UAE & Kuwait: Brothers Forever,” the memorial aims to symbolise decades of cooperation, shared values and cultural unity between the UAE and Kuwait. The initiative follows directives from the UAE leadership to mark this relationship with week-long celebrations across the Emirates.
Designed by young Emirati talent Omar Al Gurg, the monument will reflect a blend of traditional Arab aesthetics and contemporary design. Al Gurg, known for integrating heritage into modern forms, was selected for his creative vision and cultural sensitivity.
The chosen site, Al Shaheed Park, is one of Kuwait’s most significant cultural spaces and already hosts iconic structures like The Martyr Monument and the Constitution Monument. The UAE memorial will be positioned for maximum visibility, further enriching the park’s role as a centre of regional heritage.
The project reinforces ongoing efforts to deepen both institutional cooperation and people-to-people connections across the Gulf. Officials say the memorial will stand as a timeless tribute to mutual respect and unity, serving future generations as a reminder of Gulf solidarity.
