Kuwait economic achievements in 2025 highlight financial resilience, innovation progress and a strengthened role as a regional and global hub.
KUWAIT CITY: Kuwait economic achievements in 2025 have reinforced the country’s standing as a regional and global hub, as it marks its 65th National Day with strong financial and diplomatic milestones.
A recent publication by the Statistical Centre for the Cooperation Council for the Arab Countries of the Gulf highlighted significant financial and investment surpluses. Sovereign wealth fund assets surpassed 1 trillion US dollars, while banking sector assets exceeded 100 billion Kuwaiti dinars. These figures underline the resilience of the national economy and sustained international confidence.
The Kuwait Stock Exchange recorded gains of more than 9.6 billion dinars, boosting investor sentiment. Kuwait also ranked 19th globally in the National Brand Value Index, with a national brand value equivalent to around 9 per cent of GDP, among the highest ratios worldwide.
In innovation, Kuwait placed among the world’s top 10 in the Global Innovation Index 2025. Progress in digital infrastructure, 5G technologies, mobile internet speed and government digitalisation contributed to this performance. Sovereign credit ratings remained in the high category with a stable outlook, further strengthening Kuwait economic achievements on the global stage.
The year also saw notable milestones, including the longest-distance transcontinental robotic surgery, a record daily gas production rate at the Jaza Offshore Field and major archaeological discoveries on Failaka Island. Advances were reported in civil aviation safety and public health laboratory standards.
Kuwait continued its humanitarian leadership and registered its first United Nations resolution under its name in innovation-related fields. As a founding member of the Gulf Cooperation Council, it has hosted eight summits, contributing to economic integration and regulatory coordination across the region.
