DUBAI: Under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, and the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Dubai Press Club (DPC) has opened submissions for the ninth edition of the Ibda’a – Arab Youth Media Award.
Reviving the legacy of the 2001 Ibda’a Media Student Awards, this initiative continues to identify and nurture emerging Arab media talent, empowering institutions to shape an innovative media ecosystem.
Mona Al Marri, Vice Chairperson of the Dubai Media Council and DPC President, noted: “Guided by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s vision, the award inspires young media talent to excel in studies and careers, driving Arab media’s development.”
The 2025 award introduces six categories: Podcasting, E-Games, Multimedia, Photography, Short Video, and News Reports. Students across the Arab world can participate individually or in groups, submitting through universities or independently with institutional endorsements.
Jasim Al Shemsi, from the Organising Committee, emphasised that the revamped award aligns with modern media advancements, offering participants opportunities to connect with industry leaders and showcase creativity.
Winners will receive $5,000 per category and be celebrated during the Arab Youth Media Forum. Amna Khalil, another committee member, highlighted the award’s strategic importance in fostering talent and equipping Arab media for future challenges.
Submissions, in Arabic or English, must adhere to originality and ownership criteria. The jury, comprising media experts, will ensure integrity in evaluation.
