HATTA: Under the directives of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Hatta Winter initiative launched today. This event, running from December 13, 2024, to January 22, 2025, aims to position Hatta as a top winter destination.
Organised by Brand Dubai under the supervision of the Supreme Committee for Hatta Development, the initiative showcases Hatta’s natural beauty, cultural richness, and adventure-filled activities. It is part of the larger #DubaiDestinations campaign.
This year’s edition promises 50+ activities, 100 workshops, and five key festivals: Hatta Winter Festival, Hatta Cultural Nights, Hatta Honey Festival, Hatta Agricultural Festival, and Hatta x DSF. Visitors can explore scenic landscapes, join cultural experiences, and witness live entertainment at Leem Lake, a stunning three-hectare site surrounded by mountains.
According to Mona Al Marri, Vice Chairperson of the Dubai Media Council, the initiative supports Dubai’s 2040 Urban Master Plan. “With its breathtaking mountain views and rich cultural experiences, Hatta Winter is a unique offering for families, adventurers, and culture enthusiasts,” she said.
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will operate 29 daily Hop On Hop Off bus trips, with 1,100 parking spaces and internal transport to key sites. The RTA aims to make Hatta easily accessible for visitors.
Supporting the UAE’s honey industry, Dubai Municipality will host the Hatta Honey Festival, featuring 51 Emirati beekeepers. The Hatta Agricultural Festival will also support local farmers.
The Dubai Sports Council will introduce hiking, cycling, and outdoor sports, while Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) will offer weekend fireworks, lighting displays, and adventure activities like zip-lining and kayaking.
With extensive media coverage from Sama Dubai, the Hatta Winter initiative aims to draw tourists and support local entrepreneurs, offering visitors a month-long celebration of nature, adventure, and heritage.
