Morocco’s tourism sector hit a record 19.8 million visitors in 2025, generating over $13 billion in revenue and strengthening economic recovery.

RABAT: Morocco recorded its highest-ever tourism performance in 2025, welcoming 19.8 million visitors over the year, according to official figures from the Moroccan Ministry of Tourism. This historic milestone underscores the growing global appeal of the North African nation and reflects a strong rebound in international travel to the region.

Tourism revenues surpassed $13 billion, further positioning the sector as a central pillar of Morocco’s economic development. The surge in arrivals is a testament to the country’s continued efforts to modernise infrastructure, enhance visitor experiences, and diversify travel offerings to meet global demand.

The Ministry of Tourism said the achievement stems from the success of its long-term strategic plan focused on promoting Morocco as a year-round destination. Key initiatives included international marketing campaigns, improved air connectivity, expansion of eco and cultural tourism offerings, and sustained public-private partnerships.

The nearly 20-million visitor benchmark not only supports job creation and investment but also boosts Morocco’s international competitiveness in the tourism industry. With its rich cultural heritage, scenic landscapes, and enhanced hospitality services, Morocco has increasingly become a preferred destination for travellers from Europe, the Middle East, and beyond.

Officials highlighted that the upward trend is expected to continue into 2026, with new developments underway to increase accommodation capacity and support sustainable tourism models across the Kingdom.
