Etihad Airways is set to welcome over 2 million passengers in December 2025, marking its busiest winter season driven by festive travel and tourism.
ABU DHABI: Etihad Airways is gearing up for its busiest winter travel season to date, with over 2 million passengers expected to travel through Abu Dhabi in December 2025. The spike in demand reflects both the festive holiday period and Abu Dhabi’s emergence as a global tourism and cultural hub.
As UAE residents take advantage of extended school holidays, the emirate is also seeing increased international arrivals. The city’s expanding leisure attractions and Etihad’s fast-growing flight network are drawing tourists from key markets across Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
To support smoother travel for all passengers, Etihad Airways is offering a range of digital and in-person services. These include the Abu Dhabi City Check-In service, which allows travellers to complete check-in and drop bags before arriving at the airport, as well as early bag drop and home check-in options for added convenience.
The airline is encouraging guests to plan ahead and make use of these services, along with the Etihad App, to save time and enjoy a more relaxed travel experience.
Travel experts expect that Abu Dhabi International Airport will see peak footfall throughout the month, particularly during the Christmas and New Year period. Etihad’s growing international connectivity has positioned the UAE capital as a preferred layover and holiday destination, combining ease of travel with world-class hospitality.
With December shaping up to be a record month, Etihad Airways continues to strengthen its role as a key enabler of tourism and global mobility through Abu Dhabi.
