LIWA: Gear up for the adrenaline-pumping Liwa drift race at Moreeb Dune, kicking off this Friday and Saturday as part of the Liwa International Festival 2025. Known as the ultimate winter destination, this festival draws motorsport enthusiasts and tourists from around the world.

The two-day event will showcase high-octane drift racing on the iconic Moreeb Dune Drift Track, where elite professional and amateur drivers will push their skills to the limit. Since its debut in 2018, the Liwa drift race has become a highlight of the festival’s lineup, offering heart-racing action for motorsport fans.

Participants will compete in two categories — Drift Pro for professional drivers and a separate category for amateurs, giving local talents and enthusiasts a chance to shine. The judging panel has shared rules, vehicle specifications, and participation guidelines through the club’s mobile app.

Festivities begin at 6:00 pm on Friday with free trials and practice runs, followed by the official race launch. On Saturday, the action continues with finalists battling it out for top prizes.

Mohammed Al-Mishghouni, Vice Chairman of the Liwa Sports Club, shared his excitement: “We have worked tirelessly to provide a world-class track and ensure safety for drivers and spectators. Our aim is to celebrate local and international driving talent, and we’re looking forward to some breathtaking performances.”
