DUBAI: Dubai Police is all set to host the first-ever International K9 Show from April 18 to 20, in collaboration with Nestlé’s pet nutrition brand, Purina Pro Plan. This global event will bring together experts in dog training, pet care, and law enforcement from around the world.

The show aims to highlight the vital role of K9 units in maintaining safety, conducting rescue operations, and assisting in complex missions. Over 30 international exhibitors, including breeders, trainers, wellness experts, and dog clubs, will be part of the event.

Major General Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi of Dubai Police described the show as a major step in enhancing international cooperation in policing and canine training. He hopes it will evolve into a world-class event within five years.

Lieutenant Colonel Salah Al Mazrouei, Director of the K9 Security Inspection Unit, emphasised that dogs are indispensable to Dubai Police. He noted the event would not only showcase local expertise but also allow learning from global best practices and innovations.

But it’s not all serious business. The show will also feature family-friendly activities such as interactive sessions, educational workshops, and competitions for dog lovers — including awards for best breed and live performances.

There will be an interactive zone to engage families and pet owners in a fun and informative setting. Visitors can register in advance to enjoy this pet-filled weekend that celebrates both security and community spirit.

Whether you’re in it for the tech, the training, or just a tail-wagging good time, the International K9 Show is one not to miss.
