Suriya 47 Scene introduces the Tamil star as unpredictable DSP Inbaraj, with Jithu Madhavan’s action-comedy arriving in cinemas this Diwali.
CHENNAI: Suriya 47 Scene has officially been revealed, with the actor transforming into an eccentric, swaggering police officer for director Jithu Madhavan’s first Tamil film.
The makers unveiled the title teaser on September 9, ending months of speculation surrounding the project previously known as Suriya 47. The film is now titled Scene and will arrive in cinemas worldwide on November 6, 2026, around the Diwali holiday.
Who does Suriya play in Scene?
Suriya plays DSP Inbaraj, but the first glimpse makes it clear that audiences should not expect a conventional heroic police officer.
Inbaraj is presented as rebellious, unpredictable and intimidating, with his arrival immediately changing the atmosphere around both police officers and prisoners.
The teaser opens at a crime scene before introducing more of Inbaraj’s unusual personality. Prisoners appear particularly nervous about his arrival, while his interactions with colleagues suggest a character who is as troublesome for those around him as he is effective at dealing with criminals.
That combination of action, humour and eccentric behaviour gives the character some of the offbeat energy associated with director Jithu Madhavan’s previous work.

Why is Jithu Madhavan’s Tamil debut attracting attention?
Madhavan is best known for Malayalam films Romancham and Aavesham, the latter becoming particularly popular for its energetic treatment of Fahadh Faasil’s gangster character Ranga.
Scene marks the filmmaker’s Tamil directorial debut.
Suriya 47 Scene also brings several Malayalam cinema names into the project. Nazriya Nazim stars alongside Suriya, while Naslen has a key role. Anandraj, Lal and Raj Priyan are also part of the cast.
Nazriya’s appearance is notable as it marks her return to Tamil cinema after Thirumanam Enum Nikkah in 2014.
