SHARJAH: The Sharjah Children’s Reading Festival 2025 (SCRF) is back for its 16th edition, welcoming authors and illustrators from 17 Arab countries — all set to inspire young minds from April 23 to May 4 at Expo Centre Sharjah.
Under the theme ‘Dive Into Books’, this year’s festival brings together 43 celebrated storytellers, including writers, psychologists, and illustrators who specialise in everything from science fiction and fantasy to adventure and educational writing. Their goal? To spark curiosity and grow a love for reading among the region’s youngest readers.
Organised by the Sharjah Book Authority, SCRF 2025 blends culture with creativity through a packed programme of workshops, panel talks, and interactive sessions. Visitors can expect a dynamic space full of imagination, where children are encouraged to explore the power of stories.
More than just a festival, SCRF continues to strengthen Sharjah’s global reputation as a champion of Arabic children’s literature. With storytelling deeply rooted in the Arab world’s traditions, the event builds bridges between generations and between books and young minds.
This year’s edition will also spotlight discussions on the evolving nature of children’s publishing, the role of illustrations, and how authors can address today’s challenges in ways that empower younger audiences.
Whether you’re a parent, a teacher, or simply a book lover, SCRF 2025 is a celebration of language, ideas, and creativity — and a reminder that reading opens doors to entire worlds.
