Sharjah: In the bustling world of Sharjah’s cultural heritage, Dr. Abdulaziz Al Musallam, Chairman of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage and Head of the Supreme Committee for Sharjah Heritage Days (SHD), shared exciting news about the upcoming twenty-first session of Sharjah Heritage Days. Scheduled to kick off on February 22 and span 11 days until March 3, the event themed “Connection” will unfold across six cities within the Emirate of Sharjah, featuring participation from 12 Arab and foreign countries alongside 27 government entities.

During a recent press conference at the Centre for International Cultural Heritage Organizations, Dr. Al Musallam, alongside notable figures like Moon Byung Jun, Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Dubai, and Abu Bakr Al Kindi, General Coordinator of Sharjah Heritage Days, revealed insights into the grand occasion.

Dr. Al Musallam emphasized the celebration’s significance, coinciding with the tenth anniversary of the Sharjah Institute for Heritage’s establishment, highlighting its dedication to preserving Emirati heritage and fostering intergenerational and cross-cultural connections. The theme “Connection” underscores the importance of embracing heritage in the face of challenges, nurturing a link between past and future generations, and fostering global cultural exchange.

Activities throughout the festival will span various cities, including Sharjah, Al Hamriyah, Dibba Al Hisn, Khor Fakkan, Kalba, and Al Dhaid, featuring lectures, workshops, age-diverse activities, and live demonstrations of Emirati heritage crafts and traditional games. International participation from countries like Kuwait, Morocco, and the United States, alongside South Korea’s Jeju Province as the guest of honor, promises a rich cultural tapestry.

New highlights include exhibitions showcasing Korean heritage and a Kuwaiti heritage corner presented by Expo 965. Additionally, over 200 artistic shows, 23 folkloric and Arab community groups, and various interactive experiences will enrich the festival’s vibrant atmosphere.

With a strong focus on visitor comfort and safety, the organizing committee has implemented measures such as expanded parking facilities, accessibility accommodations, and transportation services, ensuring a seamless experience for all attendees.
