Etihad Airways and Mumbai City FC team up in new partnership

ABU DHABI: Etihad Airways has secured a landmark multi-year deal to become the Official Front of Shirt Sponsor for Mumbai City FC, starting from the 2024-25 football season. This significant partnership underscores Etihad’s commitment to enhancing its presence in the Indian market, celebrating its 20-year history of flying to India. Mumbai City FC, a prominent team with two Indian Super League titles and two Indian Super League Cups, will proudly display the Etihad logo on the front of their match shirts and training kits for both their senior and youth teams.

This agreement, which is a record in Indian football for its duration, aligns with Etihad’s strategic goals of strengthening ties with key markets and expanding its brand visibility. It also marks a special milestone for Etihad, coinciding with their two-decade anniversary of connecting India with global destinations. From September 1st, Etihad will introduce its A380 aircraft on the Mumbai to Abu Dhabi route, highlighting its dedication to growth in India. This iconic superjumbo will be a feature on this popular route for four months, offering passengers a unique travel experience.

Kandarp Chandra, CEO of Mumbai City FC, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, noting that it reflects the club’s values of excellence and performance. He highlighted that both Etihad and Mumbai City FC share a commitment to balancing tradition with modernity and bringing people together. Antonoaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways, also expressed excitement, stating that this partnership is an essential step in their strategy to enrich their presence in India and offer more convenient connections for passengers traveling from 11 Indian cities to destinations across the Middle East, Europe, and North America.
