DUBAI: The Dubai World Cup is set to make history, with its 29th edition on April 5 at Meydan Racecourse being broadcast to a record-breaking 170 countries. This makes it one of the most globally watched horse racing events, headlined by the US$12 million Dubai World Cup.

With 37 broadcasters airing the event live, the race is reaching new audiences. Channel 7 is bringing it to mainstream TV in Australia for the first time, while Sportsnet in Canada and FanCode in India, with 160 million users, will expand its footprint. Major networks like Fox Sports (US), ESPN (South America), SuperSport (Africa), and Viaplay (Europe) are also on board.

In the Middle East, Dubai Racing Channel, Yas TV (Abu Dhabi), and Saudi Sports Channel will ensure regional coverage. Asian markets will tune in via Fuji TV, Green Channel, NetKeiba (Japan), and TVB (Hong Kong). Even cruise lines and airlines, including Emirates Airline, will stream the event.

CNN Worldwide, reaching 347 million households, is covering the race through its World Sport programme, solidifying Dubai’s status as a global horse racing powerhouse.
