Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid heads the UAE delegation at the Arab summit in Algeria
Tue 01 Nov 2022Dubai: His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai is heading the UAE delegation participating in the 31st edition of the Arab Summit in the Algerian capital Algiers under the chairmanship of His Excellency Abdelmadjid Tebboune, President of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria.
This is the first Arab summit in three years and leaders attending the event will sit down to discuss a multitude of challenges facing the region.
The coronavirus pandemic prevented the annual summit from being held in the last two years. Algeria has selected the time of the summit to coincide with celebrations marking the North African nation’s 60th anniversary of its independence from French rule. Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune will preside over the event.
The last Arab League summit was held in Tunis in March 2019.
